I may be able to live without Television, but I don’t think I could make it without my iPod.

In my quest to find a way to power my home I’ve found more resources than I could have imagined were out there. There are SO many people who know how to do this stuff who are willing to share that knowledge with everyone. I can’t believe it! Only a few months ago I didn’t even know this kind of stuff was possible. Ok, maybe I’m getting way too excited. Time to roll up my sleeves and start building.

To Green or not to Green...

Okay, I admit it; I was convinced to go green. But when I looked into solar panels or wind energy, it was all WAY too expensive for me (I’m still in my 20’s). Then again, it’s just expensive period. But there were some major contributing factors to why I should change up from city energy to my own energy.

Top 5 reasons I want to go green
1. Increase the value of my home
2. Energy savings add up
3. Saving money on water as well
4. Conserving recourses
5. More productive (extra cash means less stress)

Things I found to power my home:

(I will list more as I find some good ones)

Solar panels for 1% to 10% of the normal price if you just make them yourself! These guys make it look easy. You've got to check these out! Earth4Energy and GreenDIYenergy.

Not sure I could build these on my own though: Energy Efficient Bulbs and Appliances.

Also, there's a Magnetic Generator that would even work in a cave (no light or wind), haha, and the all time favorite Homemade Wind Generator. This couple also shows how to make your own electric car or biodiesel! So cool.
